All of Eleven's Powers Ranked: From Nosebleeds to World-Ending

Cataloging every psychic ability Eleven has demonstrated across five seasons.

Eleven's power progression over five seasons is genuinely remarkable television. She started as a scared girl who could crush a Coke can with her mind—and we were impressed by THAT. By the series end? She's arguably the most powerful psychic being on Earth.

I've rewatched every Eleven scene cataloguing her abilities, and ranking them was harder than I expected. Some powers appear once and never again. Others evolve dramatically. Here's my definitive ranking based on combat utility, narrative importance, and sheer coolness.

Eleven's Powers Ranked

#10: Remote Viewing (Season 1) Using a sensory deprivation tank, El can project her consciousness to observe distant locations and people. It's the ability that started it all—finding Will, contacting the Demogorgon. Cool but limited utility.

#9: Psychic Tracking (Season 2) Locating specific people across vast distances. She found her mother. She found the Party. This power saved lives but feels like a stepping stone to bigger things.

#8: Electronics Manipulation (Season 1) Can interfere with or destroy electronic devices. Mostly used accidentally in early seasons, but remember—she fried a radio by getting emotional. That's terrifying power barely controlled.

#7: Biokinesis (Season 1) Here's where it gets dark. Eleven can cause internal damage to living things. First demonstrated by making bully Troy wet himself (hilarious). Later demonstrated by stopping hearts (NOT hilarious). The power gap there is enormous.

#6: Gate Opening/Closing (Seasons 1-4) This is the most plot-critical ability in the show. She created the original gate. She closed it. Everything that happened in Hawkins traces back to this power. I'd rank it higher but it's situational—she can't just do it whenever.

#5: Memory Diving (Season 4) Season 4 introduced this ability and it's WILD. El can enter others' memories using the void, experiencing their past firsthand. This is how we learned the truth about the Hawkins Lab massacre. Narratively brilliant power.

#4: Telekinesis - Standard (All Seasons) The bread-and-butter ability. Moving objects with her mind. Flipping vans. Throwing people. Crushing skulls. It's "standard" but the power ceiling is astronomical. Early El vs. Late El telekinesis aren't even comparable.

#3: Mass Telekinesis (Season 3) Moving multiple objects simultaneously with precision control. The mall fight showed her coordinating multiple projectiles in real-time combat. That's not just power—that's skill. She earned this.

#2: Psychic Combat (Season 4) Direct mental battles with other psychics. Her fights with Vecna exist on another level entirely. This isn't just telekinesis—it's will versus will, mind versus mind, trauma versus trauma. The most personal form of combat possible.

#1: Dimensional Manipulation (Season 4-5) By the finale, El can affect the boundary between dimensions itself. She's not just opening gates anymore—she's REWRITING the rules of reality. This is god-tier power. The kind of ability that breaks any story if not handled carefully. The Duffers handled it carefully.

What I love about El's power progression is that it mirrors her emotional growth. She gets stronger as she processes her trauma, accepts her identity, and connects with others. Her powers ARE her character arc.
