Yellowjackets weaves between the 1996 wilderness survival and the present-day lives of the survivors, creating a dual-timeline mystery that asks: what really happened out there, and what are the survivors still hiding? The show follows the Yellowjackets girls' soccer team whose plane crashes in the Ontario wilderness en route to nationals. Over 19 months, the girls' society devolves from organized survival into something primal and ritualistic. In the present, the adult survivors grapple with trauma, secrets, and the growing threat of exposure. What makes Yellowjackets extraordinary is its refusal to judge its characters. The descent into cannibalism and cult behavior isn't portrayed as sudden madness but as a gradual, almost logical progression born from desperation, teenage psychology, and the human need for meaning in chaos.
